Our Billing system for Prepaid accounts changed in September of 2017. Instead of purchasing minutes for specific services, like Captioning or Transcription, you can now buy credits that can be used to request any of the services we provide. In this article, we provide an overview of the main changes, and also of what did not change.
What changed?
Prepaid Balance:
The balance will no longer be split into different minute pools; rather there is one pool of credits available for all services. To view how many credits each service requires, or what services your current balance will get, click the Prepaid Credits link, in the upper-right corner. Click Buy more, if you need to purchase additional credits.
What happened to my old prepaid balance of minutes?
If you had an existing balance of minutes on your prepaid account, prior to this conversion, then your old minutes were automatically converted to credits for you. To determine the number of credits for the conversion, each category of minutes in your account was multiplied out by the price of those minutes on the conversion date. This method ensured that you received enough credits to have the exact same purchasing power as before the conversion, but you now have the additional flexibility to spend those credits on other services if you choose.
How do I purchase Credits for the services I need?
Click Buy more, upon login (upper-right corner); or open the Billing tab. You will see the total credits available, and a detailed list of how many credits each service requires. You can then either purchase credits for a specific service or services; or purchase credits for additional services for existing submissions; or just purchase a certain amount of credits. If you purchase credits for services, you can then select the priority required, and/or add-on services. Finally, you just need to generate the invoice and pay it. The credits will then be added to the credit balance once it is paid.
See a complete description of how to add credits to the balance in our Prepaid Accounts Billing article.
How do I generate an Invoice:
Once you have the amount of credits selected and reviewed, click Generate Invoice. You can then pay it with your credit card and the credits will be added to the balance.
How do I know if I have enough Credits for the services I need?
To view how many credits each service requires, or what services your current balance will get, click the Prepaid Credits link, in the upper-right corner.
Low Prepaid Balance Alerts:
If you have Low Prepaid Balance Alerts enabled for your account, they will now reference the credits available and you will receive an alert when the amount is lower than the value defined in the Manage Organization page, under the Settings tab.
More Transcription Turnaround choices:
Choose any of the existing turnaround time options available for your organization, rather than being constrained to just two.
