By default, CaptionSync assumes you are submitting English language media and will produce English transcripts, captions, and/or subtitles for you. CaptionSync can also accept Spanish, mixed Spanish/English, French and German media and produce Spanish, Mixed, French and German captions and/or subtitles for you.
As with English, you may either provide your own transcript, or you may opt to use our transcription service. We have Spanish, French and German transcribers ready to transcribe your media whenever you need them. Pricing and turnaround times for Spanish, French and German transcription and captioning are exactly the same as for English.
If you are providing your own transcript, you will want to pay attention to the character encoding used in your transcript file to ensure the non-English characters are correctly represented. See our article on character encoding for guidance on this topic.
If you opt to have AST produce the transcript, you will need to identify your submission as being either Spanish, Mixed Spanish/English, French or German on the Advanced Settings, under Language/Content, before making your submission:
Your selection is also highlighted on the 'summary sticky' before you submit:
If you are submitting via a video platform that is integrated with CaptionSync, you can set the Language field appropriately, and then choose to save the settings as your default. All subsequent submissions made via any of these submission methods will then honor your new language selection. Remember to set the default back to English when you are done.
