Closed Captioning Brightcove videos with CaptionSync is easy using our integration. This tutorial describes how to use tags in your Brightcove pre-2017 system.
What are Tags?
Tags are a set of keywords that can be assigned to a video or set of videos on your Brightcove account. For example, if you have a list of videos with a common theme, e.g. Biology, then all those videos can have the Biology tag added. This tag will then make the media library searches much easier. You can learn more about tagging your media files on your Brightcove account in this article.
How to use Tags:
- If you have already tagged your videos on your Brightcove account with a certain tag, you can use it on the Tag(s) to Match for Captioning field, when you're making a new List of Brightcove Videos for Captioning request. On the following screen, you will be presented with a list of videos that have not yet been captioned and that match that tag. You can select or deselect videos, and then click Caption Selected Videos.
- If you leave the Tag(s) to Match for Captioning field blank, and click Submit List, we'll retrieve all the files on your Brightcove account that haven't been captioned yet, starting with the most recent. Just check off the ones that you want captioned, and click Caption Selected Videos.
Note that in both situations, with or without tags, videos that were already captioned will not be presented once you click the Submit List button.
- If you have multiple tags that you want to submit at once, make sure you list them separated by commas, with no spaces between the commas. For example, if you enter batch01,batch02 in the Tag(s) to Match for Captioning field, then you will be presented with a list of videos that have either batch01 or batch02 on the video, which have not yet been captioned. On the next screen, you can de-select any videos that you do not need to caption at this point.
