If you are using AST DBA Verbit U.S. with VoiceQ to generate timing files for your dubbing project, we have several recommendations to help you get the best possible results.
Can I use my own transcript?
Yes, you can upload your own transcript to save time and money. Just ensure you use a verbatim transcript and that it is formatted according to our Transcription Guidelines. If you struggle with formatting it according to our guidelines, you can submit it as is and then add Result Review to your request. Our reviewers will then review the results and ensure they are in sync.
If you do not have your own transcript, you can elect to have us create the transcript for you (a transcript is necessary to generate the timing results).
How do I make a Captioning-Only request where I can upload my own transcript?
Simply follow the instructions in our Captioning-Only requests article.
How do I select the VoiceQ captioning format?
In the submission page, open the Advanced Settings. Choose the .vqsync output from the Available Outputs box and add it to the Chosen Outputs box. You can also remove all the other outputs from this box, and keep just the .vqsync format.
If you need closed captioning files and/or subtitle files, you can have them generated at the same time as your .vqsync file, for no additional cost.
Which type of content should I submit?
Media files with a great deal of music or noise can deteriorate the synchronization results; if you have access to a dialog-only track, we would recommend submitting that for the best accuracy. If you only have access to the mixed track, and your audio is noisy or has background music, we recommend adding our Result Review service to the submission to have any inaccuracies manually reviewed and corrected.
