In this tutorial you’ll learn how to submit a request in a non-English language. Currently, we support English, Spanish, French and German, and more languages will be added in the near future. Remember that audio and transcript must be in the same language. If you want a translation, check out our article on translating captions, since this requires different steps.
Let’s start then. Log into your CaptionSync account and go to the Caption/Transcribe Tab. Click the Advanced Setting button to open the dialog box:
Under the Language/Content tab, by the Language in Audio menu, choose Spanish, Mixed Spanish/English, French or German. Click Apply Changes:
Your summary sticky should look like this:
Now you just need to upload your media file and request a transcription or supply your own text transcription (for Captioning submissions). Note that if you select a language for which we do not currently have transcribers, you'll need to supply your own transcript:
Once the request is sent, you may monitor its progress by clicking the Status of Submissions page, under the same tab. Select the submission to see its status: if you requested a transcription, you can cancel it as long as the status is Awaiting Transcription. Open the Details page to the submission, and click the Click here to Cancel link. You may cancel the request up to the time the transcriber responds to it and begins the transcription process: then the status changes to Transcription in Progress. Once the transcription has started, a submission cannot be cancelled and the cancel link will disappear. Once the request is complete, the results are emailed to you, and they can also be retrieved from this same status page.
