If you selected the Customer Reviews Transcript Before Captioning option from the Advanced Settings, when you made your Transcription-Captioning request, you will be prompted to review the transcript once it becomes available (you will be emailed if you checked the Settings -> Contact Settings -> General -> Await Customer Review of Transcript option). To do this, open the Status of Submissions page, on your CaptionSync account, and click the Await Customer Review link of the desired AST ID:
On the Transcript Review page, you can download the transcript by the Transcript to Review field (if the language in your media file is not English, then please download the UTF-8 file):
You can edit the transcript in a text editor, like Word, Notepad, TextEdit, etc. You just need to make sure you save the transcript as a plain. txt file; don't delete any of the sync markers you see on the text (e.g. ^M, ^E or ^B); and also that the text matches the audio content in the media file. If your transcript is not in English, then please save it as UTF-8.
Finally, when you're done making changes, you just need to upload the revised transcript, on that same page, by choosing the Upload Revised Transcript option, and then click the Proceed button:
If you don't need to make any changes to the transcript, you just need to choose the Accept Transcript As Is option, and click Proceed.
If for some reason the transcript you downloaded is missing some content, or it doesn't match the audio content in the media file you uploaded, you can also request a Retranscription of your submission, so that the correct text can be made available by the transcriber. In this case, choose the Request Retranscription option. You will be prompted to enter your instructions for the transcriber. Then click Proceed.
Finally you'll see this page:
The Captioning process will then proceed, and you should expect results within a few minutes (Encoding results should take a bit longer, some 15 minutes).
Additional Notes:
- The transcript can be accepted/reviewed up until being 150 days in Await Review status.
- For large system-wide prepurchases with campus usage reports, the transcript can be accepted/reviewed up until being 7 days in Await Review status.
