Ensemble Video has an integration with CaptionSync that makes captions automatically available to Ensemble videos. But if you want to add captions to your Ensemble presentations without using our integration, you just need to request an .ensemble.xml caption file from your CaptionSync account, and then follow the instructions in this tutorial.
Request an .ensemble.xml Caption File:
The first step is to get the caption file from CaptionSync. You can use any of the methods we have available to make this request: upload your media file and make the Captioning request; submit a URL to your media file using our List of URLs feature; or use our batch upload tool AST-Link (Windows and Mac). You just need to ensure you select the .ensemble.xml output from the Advanced Settings:
Associate the .ensemble.xml Caption File with your Video:
When you get the .ensemble.xml file back from CaptionSync, save it to a known place on your local disk (for example, on the desktop). You now need to import it to your Ensemble system. On your Ensemble system, under Media Library, click the Edit link of the video you wish to get captioned:
Then open the Manage Content tab, and choose Captions from the Type drop-down menu:
Click Add file, and select the .ensemble.xml caption file (the one you previously saved on your local disk). Once you see the file on the Upload window, click Start upload. The caption file will show under the Captions tab once the upload finishes. Finally click the Save & Continue button:
Now, return to the Media Library, and click the link to your video. You will see captions being displayed when you toggle the CC icon on:
