Snapchat does not currently support closed captioning, but captions can be added to Snapchat videos. So there are a few options available to make a transcript, or closed/open captions available with each video:
- Place and closed caption the same video on YouTube, Facebook or Vimeo, and post a link to the captioned video in the Snapchat caption. Example of a caption of an Snapchat video:
A captioned version of this video is available at: https://www.facebook.com/AST/videos/1929615
- Place the transcript of the video on Dropbox, Box or Google Drive, and then share the link to the transcript file in the Snapchat caption. Example of a caption of an Snapchat video:

- You can also open caption your video, before uploading it to Snapchat. Note that open captions cannot be turned off. You can use our Video Encoding feature, selecting Open Captions under the Advanced Settings. Once the encoded video is ready, you can upload it into your Snapchat account, via Memories -> Camera Roll.
